Who can send an entry
You must be a parent or guardian aged 18 or over. You confirm you own your contribution or have the owner’s permission to give these permissions, including for your child’s contribution. Send original invented characters, pets or finished Silly Taters colouring pages. Do not send photos of children’s faces, full names, schools, uniforms, addresses or identifying details.
Your character in our world
Copyright in your contribution stays with its owner. Submitting does not transfer ownership.
You give Design of Tomorrow (ABN 47 519 367 905), which runs Silly Taters, a non-exclusive licence to use, copy, adapt, publish and sell your submitted character, pet, artwork and description in the Hootie and Tabitha world. This includes stories, videos, colouring and line-art books, social posts and other Silly Taters creations, anywhere in the world, without payment.
We may change, adapt, recolour or combine your contribution with other material and may not always name the creator. The creator, or someone authorised to represent them, agrees to these changes and to use without a name credit.
We may upload your submitted image and description to generative AI tools to help create Silly Taters content. We may let printers, publishers and distributors help us make and sell these works. Submitting does not guarantee selection.
Changing your mind
The copyright owner, or someone authorised to act for them, can email hellosillytaters@gmail.com to stop future use. From when we receive your email, we won’t use your contribution in new creations.
Finished books, videos, posts and other works made before then may stay available, and we may keep printing, sharing and selling them unchanged. We don’t have to recall, edit or delete them, except where the law requires.
Display
Submitting includes permission to show your approved entry and its image, if any, on the Community wall and Silly Taters channels. Entries without an image do not appear on the Community wall. Adaptations within our stories and other creations, including social posts, are covered by the main permission.
We may show the character or picture name. Contact details stay private. To withdraw permission for future display, email us using the details above or visit our withdrawal page.
Care and review
Entries start private while we review them. We may reject an entry. See our privacy details. These permissions do not override privacy rights or other rights that cannot legally be excluded.
